Social Programme

A guided city tour of Berne's old town is planned for the first evening of the conference. This tour will acquaint you with this city numbering amongst the UNESCO Heritage Sites. The official evening event of the conference will be taking place on Berne's local mountain, the Gurten (www.gurtenpark.ch german language only). As long as Petrus allows us, we will be enjoying the cuisine and arts as well as exceptional panoramas of the Swiss Jura, the old part of the city of Berne as well as the three well-known mountain peaks, the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

A guided mountain bike tour on the morning of the first day of the conference is also on offer for an active start into the conference. From a differential point of view, it is understood that the participants' various requirements and performance levels will be taken into consideration.

Should you plan to participate, please indicate this on your registration form. For the sake of reliable organisation we will be taking note of the any corrections, cancellations or late registrations for this mountain bike tour in your User's Account in the "My Conference" section. Please make sure your information is up to date.

The artist Wolfgang Weiss (Wolfgang Weiss Art; www.wolfgangweiss.ch), author of the logo for the asp conference 2008 which can be seen on the top left of our homepage, will be exposing some of his paintings during the annual conference in the House of Sport.
